New York:Dick & Fitzgerald, Publishers. (1858). 1st American edition. viii+121pp+7pp ads. Illustrated, with color frontispiece. Hardcover. Blue covers soiled and quite shelfworn with edges of spine strip rubbed with material starting to seperate. Both ends of spine strip worn and starting to fray, with a small tear to top edge; wear to all edges, and edge points gently bumped and worn to boards. Gilt decoration on front cover dulled. Internally, end-pages age-toned with a previous owners name to 1st free end-page. Otherwise foxing and age-toning scattered throughout. The binding is tight with hinges intact. A good solid copy, of an early book on aquariums.
