London: Printed by A. J. Valpy, 1830-34. Fifty-two volumes; small octavo; approximately 6” x 4”. Uniformly bound in three-quarter maroon leather and marbled paper-covered boards; gilt spine lettering and decoration; raised bands; each volume number is enclosed in a gilt circle in the center of the spine. The final volume has been re-backed and there is some minor wear at the extremities of a few volumes; bookplates inside each volume; a handsome, appropriately bound set of a work seldom found complete. These English translations of Greek and Latin classics were published by Valpy in monthly installments over a four year period.
