Bigelow, MD.. . new black cloth, red title label with gilt lettering, marbled edges, three leaves strengthened and repaired, dampstains in some margins, very light foxing, else very good solid copy, covers fresh and bright. . 8vo [21 x 14.5 cm]; xii, [13] - 598 pp, over 150 illustrations. . This was a useful one volume reference for the family of the mid-nineteenth century, covering health, remedies, food, receipts, farming methods, manufactured goods, machines, architecture, animal breeding, horticulture, locomotion, government, etc. There was an earlier edition of 1831 but is greatly expanded here by Bigelow.
