Los Angeles: Arthur Vernon Agency, 1933. First Edition. Hardcover. Very good +/very good. A very good plus first edition (SIGNED) in a very good dustjacket. Beige cloth boards. Dust stains in both gutters. Boldly inscribed by author on first free endpaper, remaining pages are clean and bright. Long tear on spine of dustjacket. 95 pp. 6 x 9 inches tall, octavo. The author, Nick Harris, was a crimes reporter for the Los Angeles newspaper, the Los Angeles Times, then a Los Angeles Police Department detective, and then established the famous Nick Harris Detective Agency in Los Angeles. Many of his stories and experiences in his career he wrote about as a professional writer. There was also a radio series about his adventures. This recounts both the history and drama of 1920's and 1930's Los Angeles.
