About This Item
[Raleigh?], 1911. Good plus.. 23pp. Square 12mo. Original black cloth. Minor wear to covers, text block detached. Minor soiling, small ink stamp to final blank and verso of title page. A rare little volume published by author and English instructor Harry Houston Peckham, possibly in North Carolina during his time teaching there. Though the author does take a turn at sentimentality, there is a modern flavor to his work, with titles such as "The Awakening of Old Richmond (News Item: 'Richmond's Increase in Population, Between 1900 and 1910, Was More Than 50 Per Cent.')" and "Lines. Composed on Hearing Geraldine Farrar Sing 'Manon Lescant.'" We locate a single institutional copy in OCLC, at Brown University.
