Top portion of boards toned and faded, hinges weakening, owner bookplate on verso of front endpaper. 1943 Hard Cover. xiv, [2], 306, [6] pp. Tall 8vo. Bound in stitched rawhide, complete with horse hair, suede endpapers. Introduction by R.B. Cunninghame Graham, 32 full page illustrations by Raul Rosarivo. A memoir of Argentian author and naturalist William Henry Hudson's early life in the Pampa of Argentina. He was best known for his novel Green Mansions, but was also an ornithologist of some note. This memoir, his most successful work of nonfiction, was originally published in 1918, and adapted to the 1978 Argentine film directed by Manuel Antin.
