Australia, 1952. Card Menu (4 sides). Farewell Dinner to Members of the Rowing Section of the Australian Rowing Team at The Hermitage Sydney, Friday May 30, 1952. Given by Members of earlier Crews to have rowed at Henley on Thames. 27 handwritten signatures on Menu, including those of previous Australian Rowing crews. Menu also contains the signatures of 13 members of the Australian Olympic Rowing Team for the Helsinki Games. Notable signatures include Mervyn Wood, who was the flagbearer for Australia at the Games and who also won a Silver medal in the Mens Single Skulls Event. Also, signatures of David Anderson, Philip Cayzer, Ernest Chapman, Thomas Chessel, Mervyn Finlay, Robert Tinning and Geoffrey Williamson who were part of the Bronze medal winning Australian eights. Front of menu features handwritten name of W. J. Dixon (Bill) who was one of the hosts, having competed for Australia at the 1936 Berlin Olympic Games. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. First Edition. Card. Very Good. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
