Octavo, original tan boards titled in dark blue on spine, design of a dragon in dark blue on front panel. [79] pp. Decorative endpapers, frontispiece and one additional colour plate, black & white line drawings in the text. This edition was issued jointly under both the Allen & Unwin and Houghton Mifflin imprints, allowing copies to be sold by either company. Depending on the expected market, dustwrappers were printed with either 1) A price in British Pounds; 2) A price in US Dollars; or 3) No printed price. On this copy the lower corner of the front jacket flap has been clipped and the publisher has printed "PRICE NET £1.35 IN UK ONLY" beside the clipped corner. A fine copy in a near fine original pictorial dust jacket designed by Baynes, light browning along spine panel, small touch of wear at spine head. An attractive copy.
