About This Item

New York: G. Schirmer, 1902. First edition (1902.) Hardcover without dust jacket as issued. 4to with 323 pages. Text in French and English. This vocal score has been finely rebound in full green leather and gilt with marbled end papers and paste downs. Gilt on all page edges and with intricate gilt decorations. The book belonged to Carlotta King (her name stamped on front cover) who was a veteran of stage operettas and comic operas when 'Jack Warner' heard her on the radio. He decided if she looked as good as she sang, then she would play the lead in the musical The Desert Song (1929). Indeed, the blonde soprano's appearance was as attractive as her voice, and she made her film debut. The book is in very good condition with shelf wear on bottom edges bottom of spine. Interior is clean and tight. Green spine/gold text. #031017 . First Edition. Hardcover. Very Good/No DJ as Issued. 4to. Musical Score .
