About This Item

New York:: Bantam Books, November, 1987.. 1st Printing.. Hardbound . BINDING/CONDITION: black boards with a wide strip of red cloth at the spine; a vertical spine dimple, otherwise a Very Good+ book, with a Near Fine dust jacket; the dust jacket is not price clipped.. 8vo (9.5 inches tall) . Description: The jacket blurb here seems to imply that this political thriller is Steve Sohmer's first novel: ''Sweeping and suspenseful, it heralds the exciting debut of a major talent in Steve Sohmer.'' This is misleading, as Sohmer's first novel, ''The Way it Was'' was published (to excellent reviews) in 1966. Sohmer was a television executive, had his own motion picture company and was a Shakespearean scholar; some of his Shakespeare material was written as Stephen T Sohmer.
