Hardback: map endpapers, illustrations by WILLIAM STOBBS, dj (price unclipped), some wear on the edges, tear on top back edge and a few marks, spine is faded, book is bound in orange cloth, covers are slightly bowed and edges are a little rubbed, some foredge and internal foxing, 2 'Red Cross' stamps on the half title, one page corner creased, still g. 8vo, 178pp. A biography of the man who led the first voyage around the world from 1519 to 1522.
