About This Item
Groombridge, London, 1869. First edition. Eight coloured plates and woodcuts. 8vo (7 1/2 x 5 inches) 148-pages + 6-pages of illustrated advertisements, Original green cloth elaborately & pictorially blocked in gilt and black. Very bright. Tragically the coloured plate opposite p. 63 has been torn horizontally in half and worn on fore and lower margin. Otherwise this would have been a superb copy. Foxing to prelims. & signature on recto of frontispiece.
