Ritter, 1828. 16mo. 140 x 85 mm., [5 ½ x 3 inches]. 144 pp. Publisher's marbled paper boards, green cloth spine; boards and spine rubbed with some loss to edges and at joint of spine, front board a bit loose; paper stock sound, brown with age, foxed. Originally published in the 1770's, Fenning's calculator went through numerous editions. It was first published in Germantown, followed by editions printed in Reading, Chestnut Hill, Philadelphia, York, Baltimore and Harrisburg. An important business tool for the German American community. Printed in German by John Ritter as his well-known European Book and Art Shop, Philadelphia. Shoemaker Checklist of American Imprints, 33167. Arndt, German Language Printing, 2971 (with title-page illustration). This edition does not appear to be in the Library Company collection.
