Originally written in Russian and translated by Nicholas Wreden. 482 pp. Aldanov was thought to be one of the greatest Russian writers outside Russia and was compared to Tolstoy and Dostoyevsky. Dust jacket has wear along edges and chipping top and bottom of spine. No writing inside. Book is near-pristine. Near fine in good dust jacket, protected with an archival-quality mylar cover.. First Edition. Hard Cover. Near Fine/Good. Illus. by Salter, George (dustjacket). 8vo.
