New York: The American Mercury Inc., 1936. This soft cover book has a green cover with white lettering on the front and black lettering on the spine of the cover. A good copy overall showing some wear to edges, heaviest at spine. Mild soil. Mercury Book # 33. One of only three novels by Nebel, a charter member of the Black Mask school of hard-boiled crime fiction. Maine setting; "the first blizzard of the year, blocked roads, stalled buses and a town filled to bursting with refugees from the storm." Eventually made in a film with Don Ameche, Ann Sothern, and others. Vintage paperback, 5.5" x 7.5" with 126 pages.. Soft Cover. Good/No Jacket.
