Chicago: Blossom Book Bourse, 1909. Hardcover in poor condition, lacking dust jacket. Red cloth and black title to spine and front cover, 179 pages, 8 in tall. Illustrated with protraits of James Figg, George Taylor, John Broughton, and John Slack. Index includes all boxers who have contested for the world's heavy weight championship, as well as many other notables. This boxing history starts with the 18th-century James Figg, the first English bare-knuckle boxing champion. Covers with soil spots, frayed cloth at extremities. Ownership signature on pastedown and dedication page. Binding is cracked but intact, no loose leaves. A glue repair has been applied to the gutter at pg 177.
