Camp, Mhow, 1 May 1819. 3 pp. 10 x 8 inches, in good condition, disbound, docketed on receipt, marked Private. Sir John Malcolm (1769-1833), ambassador to Persia, Governor of Bombay from 1827. His works included A Memoir of Central India (1823), Sketches in Persia (1827), and a new edition of the Sketch of the Political History of India (1811), which was issued in expanded form as The Political History of India in 1826.
