Pantheon Books, 1976. 1st US . Hardcover. Good/Near Very Good. Sturdy book, black cloth spine, embossed image like fire and smoke at top front left, very bright gilt lettering on spine, 213 pages. DJ glossy with illustration of people in flaming building on front, black spine, green back with praise from John Leonard in New York Times, Atlantic Monthly and others. Spine lightly slanted. DJ has tiny surface nick at spine top edge, very light wear at spine bottom left edge, 3/4" tear near bottom front tip. DJ and book, both Near Very Good.
Synopsis
Maj Sjöwall and Per Wahlöö, her husband and coauthor, wrote ten Martin Beck mysteries. Mr Wahlöö, who died in 1975, was a reporter for several Swedish newspapers and magazines and wrote numerous radio and television plays, film scripts, short stories, and novels. Maj Sjöwall is also a poet.
