London: Edward Arnold, 1896. Hardcover. Octavo, xviii, 636 pages + 32 page publisher catalog. In Fair condition. Ex-library with call number in ink on title page, surface tears from removed bookplate on front pastedown and removed library pocket on rear pastedown. Spine is brown with gold print. Boards in brown cloth with gilt illustration on front, mitred edges. Wear to spine caps and corners, toning to spine, peripheral toning, light soiling, shelf wear. Text block has has gilt top edge. Cracked hinges, note in ink on half-title page, long note in ink on verso of frontispiece with bottom portion clipped, intermittent spine breaks. Illustrated: b&w frontispiece portrait and plates.
