About This Item

The First UK printing published by Doubleday, London in 1995. The BOOK is in near Fine condition. A minuscule rub to the rear lower spine fold otherwise the book is in excellent condition. The binding remains very tight. The laminated boards remain very bright and there is NO fading of the yellow lettering to the spine which is commonly encountered. A title page from another first edition copy has been signed (without dedication) by Philip Pullman and affixed to the front blank end-paper. Profusely illustrated throughout in B/W by Nick Harris. No wrapper as issued. The book is protected in a loose archival Mylar cover. One of the scarcest Pullman titles with most copies having entered the library system. Accompanied by the Lyric Theatre Flyer for the theatre adaptation of this story which is loosely inserted and is in Fine condition. Collectible. More images available on request. Ashton Rare Books welcomes direct contact.
