Internally, book is clean and devoid of writing, stickers and bookplates. Copyright page shows no subsequent printing(s). Unclipped ($10.00) jacket, still with unfaded color, shows shelf wear and several small chips to bottom of front, bottom of spine and upper right of front. (see photos). Jacket is protected with a removable mylar cover. The First Circle of Dante's Hell stands as a metaphor for this highly autobiographical novel about the inmates of a prison for scientists in Stalin's Russia. 6.5x9.5 in. 580 pg.
