London: Paul Breman, 1970. First Edition. First Printing. Slim octavo (21.5cm); photo-illustrated wraps, stapled; 20pp. Fine. Collection of early poems by the native Detroit author, issued here as volume 12 in the Heritage Series. Thompson was deeply involved in the Black Arts Movement, serving as editor of Umbra in the late 1960's; he would later change his name to Abba Elethea, continuing his work as a columnist, dance critic, and poet-in-residence at Antioch University (cf.Whitt. Short Stories of the Civil Rights Movement: An Anthology, p.4).
