An introduction to the Gulag Archipelago of the Soviet Union, its camps, watchtowers manned by guards with Machine guns, and barbed wire fences, electronically charged. Included of the many innocent persecuted were women, children and teens. An historically important book. Maps, one of which is a fold-out at the inside rear cover. There is price written in grease pencil (?) to the front cover. Lightly age toned, but has been well cared for and only gently read, if at all. Translated from the Russian.
