"A true story of a two weeks' fishing trip out of Fulton Market, New York, from September 5th to September 18th, 1904, including the storm of September 15th, during which thirteen vessels were sunk in New York Bay, twenty or more barges we went ashore in and about New York, and many vessels were wrecked at sea." Dark blue gilt stamped cloth over boards, black-and-white frontis with tissue of the "Ruth M. Martin", X + 102 pages, 40 black-and-white photographic illustrations, includes Account of the Storm of September 15, 1904 by John Martensen, mate on the "Ruth M. Martin". From the Introduction: "One day a walk to the foot of Wall Street took him [the author] past Fulton Market, and the sight of the graceful lines of the fishermen, together with the 'call of the sea,' so to speak, tempted him to take one of the most interesting trips he is ever had, i.e., the following, the account of which is practically a diary, word for word."
