About This Item

New York: Dodd, Mead & Company, 1905. First American Edition. Hardcover. Good with no dust jacket/No Dustjacket. Illustrated by Millar, H. R.. Pages clean except for modest spotting in the preliminaries and along the pageblock edges along with some toning at edges and front endpapers; binding square, full cloth cover darkened along the spine and edges and showing wear with a few loose threads at corners and spine ends, including a small tear at the spine head; the white ink of the titles on front and spine is mostly flaked away, though the black decorations remain, and the pastedown on the front bears some foxing and smudging, but the book is overall well-kept - the story as delightfully haywire as ever.

Synopsis

Five Children and It is a children's novel by English author Edith Nesbit, first published in 1902; it was expanded from a series of stories published in the Strand Magazine in 1900 under the general title The Psammead, or the Gifts. It is the first of a trilogy.
