About This Item

Henry Colburn, Publisher, London, 1848. First Edition. Hardcover. Very Good/No Jacket. Two volumes (complete). Both books are placid, comfortably owned copies. Volume I: The boards are worn, scuffed, marked from handling and storage all about. The spine is sunned. The gilt titling is amiable. The binding is a little loose here and there through the book. The general security of the book is unaffected. The contents are benign. They are very lightly and occasionally annotated. The pages have some general evidence of use throughout. Nonetheless, they are comfortable, clean, clear, convivial, competent. Volume II: Much more sound. The boards have some wear about the corners and about. There are some storage marks. The spine is lightly sunned. They are pleasingly healthy and sure. The back pastedown has pencilled notes. The contents do have evidence of use throughout, nonetheless, they are gratifyingly clean, clear, contented, comfortable, congenial. A satisfying set. fk.
