There is a sticker on the inside of the book, might be able to be removed...the interior the book is highly decorated with wonderful watercolor pictures along with the text is clean inside most of the abuse has been directed towards the paper cover underneath paper cover the hard boards are a a beige there is a gold picture of a child walking it's wrapped in kind of a Teal cloth be titling is in gold on the edge....One sunny afternoon while everyone is resting, Flamboyan, a young girl named after the tree whose red blossoms are the same color as her hair, dreamily flies over her Caribbean island home....About the author (1988) Arnold Adoff has written over twenty-five books of poetry for young readers, including "Slow Dance Heartbreak Blues, " illustrated by William Cotton; and "Street Music: City Poems, " illustrated by Karen Barbour, both of which are available at your local library. He is the author of "Malcolm X, " illustrated by Rudy Gutierrez, and has also edited" The Poetry of Black America. "He has received the NCTE Award for Excellence in Poetry for Children, and his trademark "shaped speech" writing style and his rhythmic poems have made him one of the most renowned children's poets of our time. Mr. Adoff and his wife, celebrated author Virginia Hamilton, live in Yellow Springs, Ohio. Tony Johnston is the author of numerous books for children, including A"n Old Shell: Poems of the Galapagos," She lives in San Marino, California. Karen Barbour has illustrated many books, including "I Have an Olive Tree" by Eve Bunting.
