Jonathan Cape,, [1924]. 8vo., First Edition, on laid paper, with a frontispiece, mild offsetting to free endpapers, front free endpaper lightly creased; patterned paper boards in cream, green and brown, green cloth back, paper label, uncut, one or two leaves unopened, cover and label a little browned else a very good, clean copy of the author's first work. THE AUTHOR'S FIRST WORK IN VARIANT BINDING. With the engraved armorial bookplate of Richard Oskatel Latham on front paste-down, and a magazine clipping of the author's poem 'The Serf' loosely inserted. Epic poem by the South African catholic port and translator. This binding differs from the usual orange paper boards and cloth backstip; we have not seen this variant before.
