New York: G. P. Putnam & Sons, 1942. Undetermined. very good. 1st Edition. 342pp. Octavo. Salmon coloured cloth covered boards. Black lettering on spine and front cover. Spine is faded and both spine and boards show wear to the edges (boards also have a few light stains). Yellowish discolouration to endpapers. Top edge of text block red with long outer edge untrimmed. Clean, tight text block through out. A good copy. very good Robert Wilder (1901 Ñ 1974) was an American novelist, playwright and screenwriter. In 1949 the book was made into a film starring Joan Crawford. In 1980 it was remade into a TV movie and then aired an American prime time soap opera on NBC. The show ran for two seasons. 1942
