New York: Charles Scribner's Sons, 1948. First Edition. Cloth. Fine/very good. First edition of Charles Lindbergh's Of Flight and Life, inscribed to close family friend Ruth Thomas.. Twelvemo, viii, 56pp. Blue cloth, title printed on spine. First edition with "Scribner's A" on copyright page. Solid text block, touch of wear to cloth. In the publisher's dust jacket, $1.50 on front flap, tape repairs to top and bottom edges of verso, light wear to corners and spine, a touch of shelf wear. Blue and silver text vibrant and clear. Inscribed on the half-title: "To Ruth Thomas / with best wishes from / Charles A. Lindbergh / August 1948." Ruth Thomas watched the Lindbergh children throughout the 1940s and completed some secretarial work for the family as well. Thomas was close with Charles' wife, Anne Lindbergh, but the two had a complex relationship, as recorded in Anne's letters.
