Tokio: Printed By The Shiuyei Sha & Published By Kelly and Walsh, 1899. Second edition. Hardcover. Orig. publisher's green cloth lettered and illustrated in gilt. Very good. 142 text pages [Appendix VIII]. Half title, 72 black and white plates, 39 text illustrations, and 14 full page color lithographs with lettered tissue guards. With K. Ogawa he published Landscape Gardening In Japan in 1893, also served as an architect, and taught at the Imperial College of Engineering, and designed western style buildings. This second edition was the first in English on ikebana. Ex-library, contents clean, fresh with interior unmarked with ex-library marks. Extremities rubbed, beveled edges.
