Minor spinal wear and edgewear, and a small chip in the center of the front board. No dust jacket. Later printing of 1909 original. Hardcover. 167 pp. An engaging biography of the famous war-time nurse, Florence Nightingale, written for young people. The prose is friendly and accessible and tells the story of the priviledged daughter of an English squire who became the Angel of Crimea, caring for thousands of wounded soldiers in the Crimean War.
