Large, thicker, sturdy book, quality blue cloth, very bright gilt lettering and design on spine, dark blue color inside covers and adjacent end papers, 483 pages, illustrations throughout. On half-title page in black ink: "9/30/95. With the very best of wishes to my friend John Russell, Canter Brown Jr." Purchased at the same estate sale were book about the John Russell Cutlery Company, maker of the famous Green River knivers favored by Mountain Men, Indians, and Emigrants in the early 1800s. DJ glossy white, an illustration of gun battle at top front, a photo of wooden bridge with horse carriage at top back with praise. DJ creased at top front edge, 3/8" tear at top back tip down back bookfold edge. Near Very Good DJ/Very Fine book.
