Splendid collection of forty brilliant full-page color gravure plates of cactus and succulents in full bloom, Cactaceae, Crassulaceae, Ficoidae, Iiliaceae, Amaryllidaceae, and Euphorbiaceae, all magnificently painted by Arlette Davids, with preface by Henry de Montherlant. Finely printed and bound in Paris. Blocks engraved by Les Artes Photographiques Applique, plates printed by L. Delaporte, text by G. Desgrandchamps, binding by Joseph Taupin. Text in English, translated from the French by S.P. Skipworth. Fine, in a Very Good Plus dust jacket that has a 1" chip in the blank area at bottom of the spine panel, not affecting titles or graphics. Clean, crisp, bright, no foxing, no ownership signatures or any other markings of any kind. A sumptuous book.
