A poignant and enthralling story that features a stupendous flying escape from the nasty villains. We have a hero who tries to be his own man - this time pursuing steeple-chasing and flying and earning a living. Flying Finish was voted the favorite Dick Francis novel on a fanzine website.
We the proof was for in-house use, we can assume that very few copies survived. This copy is good only. The bottom right corner of the cover is missing, the page edges look used some page edges are folded.
Extended Description and Notes
An early uncorrected proof of the famous and much-loved mystery writer Dick Francis. Probably only a dozen or so copies produced for the publisher, printer and agent. This is the agents copy with his name on the from cover - John Johnson. Not in the best shape but nonetheless incredibly scarce.
Synopsis
Henry Grey takes a dirty, demanding job transporting racehorses by air. But when he discovers that he's actually transporting something altogether different, he has to call upon every ounce of resourcefulness he has to land with his life intact.
