Full leather, heavily worn, front hinge cracked but sound. Leather title label missing on spine. "Pour monsieur l'Obeancier des saint just" in pen on inside of front board. The large fold out map of Egypt at frontispiece, as described, with one closed tear, lower right corner, from opening by Jacques Nicolas Bellin, one of the most important cartographers of the 18th century. Condition of the map and engravings is good. With additional fold out engravings of: "Portique de la Ville D'Achemounain", "Porte du midi de la Ville D"Antinoe dans la Haute Egypt", "Porte du Couchant de la Ville D'Antinoe"; and illustration, "Sacrifice offert ou Soleil de Babain dans la haute", with Egyptian symbols.
