About This Item
London: Macmillan & Co., Limited, 1912. First Edition. Hardcover. Good. Warwick Goble. 4to. 274pp, [1] blank. 32 tipped-in plates in full colour by Warwick Goble. First edition with these plates, this edition de luxe limited to 150 copies bound in full vellum with gilt borders and lettering to the front board and spine. Vellum darkened, rubbed and scuffed extensively all around, a few small stains, boards soiled, with blue discoloration to the rear board. Hinges strengthened, the silk ties lacking. Light staining to the fore-edge of the rear endpaper, with shallow marginal stain to the top of the last few pages, but otherwise internally very clean and bright, the binding tight, all plates present with captioned tissue-guards (guard facing p. 218 detached). Darkened and rubbed copy, but still a good one.
