A first printing of a softcover reprint edition of Elizabeth ("Libby") Bacon Custer's account of the exploits of her husband George Armstrong Custer's Seventh Cavalry, in their encounters with southern plains Indians in the 1860s. Mrs. Custer and other kinfolk of the soldiers often traveled in close proximity to the troops. With several black & white illustrations and songs/music as commonly enjoyed in these camps. This work first published by Harper & Brothers in 1890. --- In stiff wraps with photographic portrait of the Custers to front panel. --- A clean, tightly-bound, bright copy, though with mild creasing and some curling to cover edges.; Octavo - 8 to 9 in. tall; xxxii, 341, [4] pages .
