Spine faded, spine label chipped, covers lightly rubbed, previous owner name to front free endpaper, else very good.. lvi (text) pp., 306 halftone photo plates; quarto, green cloth with gilt leather title labels to spine and front cover.
Text in Italian. A wealth of images of Italian architecture, architectural ornament, fountains, statuary, etc. The previous owner of this book was John Branner Newsom (1897-1988), son of Stanford Geology Professor John F. Newsom. In 1923-24 Newsom, Jr. built a small house in Palo Alto at 758 Everett Avenue. Perhaps some ideas for finishing touches were found in this book!
