About This Item
New York: Macmillan, 1967. First Edition. Octavo. 22cm. Publisher's green cloth titled in gilt to spine. Dustjacket. 368pp. Light scuffing and bumping to extremities and spine ends, strong and handsome in a priceclipped pictorial dustjacket with some marginal creasing to the upper edge and a little chipping to the laminate in places. A very good copy. Internally clean. Top edge stained red, fore-edge untrimmed. A lively and well written account of the various hypocrisies and contradictions of censorship and suppression of "pornography" from Lady Chatterley's Lover to Lenny Bruce and Playboy.
