About This Item

Los Angeles, California: Times-Mirror Press, 1923. The noted turn-of-the-last-century Shakespearian actor provides insight into some of the characters he has played. Later printing, first published in 1913. Inscribed and signed by the author on the front free endpaper: "Mr. Herbert E. Wright / With the Compliements of Frederick Warde / 1909" - no idea why it should be dated 1909 when the book was published in 1923. Illustrated with black and white plates from photographs showing the author and other noted actors in character and costume. Brown cloth, 244 pages, no dustjacket. Light edge rubbing, small transparent spot to front cover, good hinges, sound text block, clean pages.. Inscribed by The Author. Hard Cover. Very Good/No. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
