First Printing Near fine in dark blue buckram cloth covered boards with gilt text stamped on the spine and with gilt decorations stamped on the front board. A quarto measuring 12" by 9" with a prior owner's book plate on the first free end page. In a good+, unclipped dust jacket with heavy wear and rubbing to the extremes. From the dust jacket flap: "Footprints of Assurance is a comprehensive and complete record of fire marks used by fire insurance companies in sixty-three countries." 319 pages including an index, bibliography and text. Illustrated throughout with black and white and colored plates.
