Naval Academy and then joined the Naval Historical Center. This work is the first to analyze the partnership between the Navy, industry, and science forged by World War II and responsible for producing submarines in the United States in the period between 1940 and 1961. The naval-industrial complext was the result of the development of technology within specific historical contexts.
