London: William Heinemann Limited, 1937. Reprint. Hardcover. Very Good/No Jacket. 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾. N/a. 1104pp. 1937 reprint. 12mo. sized. A prize binding: blue leather bound (calf leather) with a gilt embossed red title block. Marbled endpapers and marbled fore-edges. The binding dates to 1938 with a Bowden House School, Seaford prize for scholarship bookplate dated July 1938 and pasted to the front endpaper. Fold-out family plate present and all there but with additional creases. Slight rubbing to the head of the spine and some light rubbing to the tail of the spine. Some light marking to the leather of the boards. A very good, clean, tight copy.

Synopsis

The Forsyte Saga is a series of three novels and two interludes published between 1906 and 1921 by John Galsworthy. They chronicle the vicissitudes of the leading members of an upper-middle-class British family. Only a few generations removed from their farmer ancestors, the family members are keenly aware of their status as "new money".
