About This Item

The First UK printing published by Macmillan & Co., London in 1932. The Book is in near Fine condition with tight binding and only light pushing at the lower spine end. The gilt titling remains bright. Slight toning and the occasional spotting to the text-block but the green top-stain is present. Light offsetting to the end papers. Free from inscriptions and bookplates. The WRAPPER is complete and is in near Fine condition. Light spotting to the flaps and rear panel with slight toning to the flap edges. The Rex Whistler wrapper artwork to the front panel and the spine is very striking in the removable Brodart archival cover. Rex Whistler also provides a chilling B/W illustration to the title page. A very elusive title to find in such collectible condition more-so with what must be one of Rex Whistler's most striking and haunting wrapper designs. Ashton Rare Books welcomes direct contact.
