New York: The Macmillan Company, 1921. 137pp. black and Gray pictorial boards. Small chip on lthe lower spine edge, light fraying to the top edge. Prev.owner name on the front pastedown. Seven black and white illustrations. The four plays ( At The Hawks' Well, The Only Jealousy Of Emer, The Dreaming Of The Bones and Calvary ). are centered on the medium of dance which was unusual for Yeats who knew little about dancing and detested contemporary ballet. He chose to centre his dramas on dance because he rejected the naturalistic theatre of his Anglo-Irish contemporaries George Bernard Shaw and Oscar Wilde. In thick mylar.. First American Edition.
