Los Angeles: Times-Mirror Company [Yosemite Park and Curry Company], 1938. Third Edition. Stiff wraps. Very Good. Ansel Adams. [12x8.5in], 48 unpaginated pages, frontispiece color image of Yosemite Falls, 54 black and white images by Ansel Adams, double page color map of Yosemite National Park; Stiff forest green wrappers with dark green lettering and illustration of Mirror Lake and Half Dome on front, three staple binding; Some shelf wear with mild soiling and age toning to wrappers with several stain spots along front joint. In the 1930's, motor car trips were becoming more common and these type of destination travel guides and advertisements for National Parks published. These are early and more commercialized photographs by Ansel Adams (1902-1984). During this period he became more established as a large landscape photographer and experimented in developing his style and compositions. This publication shows that range of work from images of people activities in Yosemite Valley and the National Park to beautifully framed large landscapes of the Sierra Nevada Mountains.
