Oxford: Oxford at the Clarendon Press 1959. (Hardcover) 598pp. Very good plus in very good dust jacket. Black cloth with gilt lettering and crest on the spine. Maps, notes, bibliography, index, fold-out genealogy. The dust jacket is edgeworn with light chipping and closed tears to the top and bottom of the spine and a tear to the bottom of the inside front flap, and there is a previous owner's name in ink on the front fixed endpaper. "This book attempts a review of the history of fourteenth-century England in the light of modern scholarship and of some recently edited texts. It discusses the political crises of the reigns of Edward II, Edward III, and Richard II and takes account of legal, parliamentary, and administrative developments.... Social and economic topics discussed include the effects of the Black Death, the causes and symptoms of agrarian unrest, the fluctuations of trade and industry, and the multiplication of guilds".
