Faint discoloration to top board corner, otherwise an excellent copy. 1956 Hard Cover. 142 pp. 8vo. A biography of Sir Winston S. Churchill's great-grandfather, who lived in Palmyra, New York, published posthumously from the manuscript written by Gladys E. Caffyn. From the introduction by J. Donald Roe: "Mrs. Caffyn has written an intensely interesting and accurate history of Ambrose Hall so far as the records of his life are now obtainable. Her entire manuscript is based on historical records taken from various County Clerk's Offices and Probate Offices and from reliable historical records and from items in the contemporary local press both in Palmyra and elsewhere. She has given the genealogy of Ambrose Hall both paternal and maternal from the Pequot War to the times of Sir Winston Churchill.
