Spines and front covers are embellished with gilt titles and horse scenes. Text's interiors are tight, clean and intact. All 14 steel engravings plus 2 half title pages are tissue protected. 57 wood cuts executed by N. Orr. All pages and engravings are clean and free of foxing. 552, 576pp. Pedigree charts. Tables of stock. Examples of extraordinary performances and winners by American Trotters. Conditions VG - G+. Cloth is slightly color faded at edges, fraying at spine ends and lightly rubbed front corners. A few pages are out of alignment but are tightly bound. Small chipped top & bottom edges of front endpaper. Sports , Trotters, Winning Horses, Horsemanship ; Steel & Wood Engravings; 4to 11" - 13" tall; 1128 pages .
